CTD #328 and MFTSC #214 - Let's Get Wild

For today's card, I broke out an unused stamp and die that I have been dying to put to use.  My Favorite Things A La Mode - On Safari stamp is super cute!!  It's perfect when paired with the vine die.

I used the colour combination from this week's Color Throwdown Challenge.  And the sketch from My Favorite Things.

Here is the card:

Thanks for the challenge!

CFTMB #41 - Hoping to Sea You Soon

Last night, I had fun with Cure for the Monday Blues Challenge #41.

I was inspired to used bright neon colours on black cardstock.  By chance, I came across an unused MFT Sea Life set and thought of blacklight fishtanks and glowing aquatic pieces or fish...that's how this card came to be.

I'm happy to say I was able upload in time.  I almost missed the deadline by going to bed and uploading in the morning.  But the fun was had in the making anyways.  Thanks for the challenge and inspiration.  :)

Sugar and Spice Crafty Challenge #4

Yay, it's that time again for the Sugar and Spice Crafty Challenge!!  Challenge #4 is themed ''April Showers Brings May Flowers''.  Please interpret that how you like.  You can check out some inspiration and the guidelines on the challenge post here.

Guess what??  Our challenge is sponsored this time around!!  And by none other than Butterfly Reflections Ink!

Vanessa has offered to send something that will totally go with this theme and something I want myself.  It's the new Hello Spring by Pink Paislee.  The winner of this challenge will receive a 6x6 paper pad, stamp set, and puffy stickers from the collection.  I hope this in motivation to get creative!

Here is my card for the challenge.  I am in love with it.  The papers come from Glitz Hello Friend and MME Honey Cake 6x6 paper pads.  Aren't the clouds in the background cool?  I used my MFT ALM The Rainbow Will Come Stamp along with Lawn Fawn Say Cheese for a great combination.  The sentiment comes from MFT The Great Outdoors, which has a lot of sentiments for rain, clouds, rainbows, and sunshine.  I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink for all my stamping, except the polaroid which is stamped in Memento Summer Sky.

I used my MFT Mini Monarch Border Die-namics and layered four die cuts to get this gorgeous texture here.  My banner comes from MFT First Place Ribbon Die-namics.  I added a pink button and twine from Queen & Co.

I stamped my image on Neenah Solar White cardstock and coloured her face, hair, hands, pants, and umbrella pole using my copic markers.  I stamped the jacket and umbrella on paper from the Honey Cake pad.  I used my colics to shade.  Lastly I added some tiny pearls to her jacket buttons.

Be sure to swing visit the site to check out all the other projects from our design members, as well as see the entries!  Thanks for dropping by!

Some Bunny Loves You

I have two cards a few different challenges to share today.  The first one is for Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday challenge.  This week's challenge was to make a no-sewed quilt.  Doodlebug's Hello Spring 6x6 pad is perfect for this time of year.  The colours are so cute and the patterns are the best.  I cut 2x2 squares in three different patterns and laid them down in a quilt-like pattern.  Then I used the PTI Quatrefoil plate with their embossing pad for the embossed background.  The Chocolate Bunny die is from Poppy Stamps (I got it from Simon Says) and I used the PTI Scrambled Eggs sentiment to stamp all over him.  This is a good way to add a sentiment if you don't want to take away from the background.  I used Memento Lulu Lavendar and Grape Jelly and backed on a purple card because purple is my fav colour.

The next card is for MFT Wednesday Stamp Club and the Simon Wednesday Challenge.   Here is the sketch:

I love this fun Pure Innocence Bunny Ears stamp.  Not only is she holding an egg, she's got the cutest bunny suit on.  I made her purple and paper pieced the egg using paper from the Doodlebug pad again.  I know this is an MFT sketch, but I couldn't resist trying out my new Lawn Fawn Awesome dies and stamp set.  Love this instagram love and it's so cool to use only part of the image.  I always use the entire image and this time I had to cut off her ears and bottom half.  But it turned out well.  I coloured my instagram image with pastel colours, paper pieced and popped the lens. I stamped my sentiment in Grape Jelly in the bottom corner (from the same PI set) and added some bling.  I love this card.

Easter is my second favorite season after Christmas.  I love the fun activities and cute things associated with spring.  I especially love decorating eggs.  I think it's a good thing we can't buy chocolate bunnies in Japan because I would probably eat too much.  :)

Ring Me Anytime

It's MFT WSC time and this week's sketch looks like this:

I chose to use the colours from the Color Q challenge this week - tan, mint, rose, coral, and white (I know, five!)  My main piece is the MFT Ring Me Die-namics.  I kept pretty close to the sketch, only choosing not to add two banners on the bottom left.  Instead, I stamped my sentiment in two lines on a cutout polaroid and added some random bling.  I used my EK Success 1 3/4'' Circle Punch  and layered it behind the dial circle.  I like how that turned out.  I left the center of the dial plain adding only a coral enamel dot from Basic Grey.  For my phone cord, I just added some buttercream twine from the Twinery.  I didn't want to cover up the pattern paper or add more colour, so I chose to layer with Bazzill 40lb. vellum paper.

Welcome Little One

It's been a while since I've made a Baby-related card!  So I was excited to see the new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Baby Booties.

I used a negative from the MFT Oval Dainty Doily Duo Die-namics and inked the open space with Spun Sugar Distress Ink and Stampin Up Purely Pomegranate with a tiny dauber.  I stamp the sentiment, the onsie, and the rattle is from the TPC Studio Here Comes Baby stamp set and the penguin comes from the American Crafts Baby Set.  Then I added some random bling and pearls in gold and pink tones.  Thanks for fun challenge!

Happiest of Days

I made this card for three challenges:

The Color Throwdown - blue, green, and yellow

I love this colour combo from the CTD again!  I chose to use my MFT Botanical Beauty Die-namics with all the colours and added a rhinestone from Wild Orchids in the center.  All the pattern paper comes from the Vintage Bliss pad by Simple Stories, except the smaller polkadot flower which comes from the Basic Grey Hopscotch pad.  I added the flower to the smaller circle of the MFT Open Scallop Doily Duo and a flocked ribbon in a brighter yellow running down behind it.  I made my card base from Blue Raspberry cardstock and added a blue patterned paper matted on a beige patterned paper.  I love the subtle butterflies.  My sentiment comes the MFT Birthday Sentiments.

Thank you for the challenges!

Be At Home Fridge Magnet

I love the image again this week at Cure for the Monday Blues - it's so fun and playful and definitely trendy.  You can always have a ton of ideas just looking at the inspiration piece.

I picked out the cool bracket frames with the pop of colour added to it.  I chose to mimic the black frame with the blue square and add pink and yellow to it.  In my diecut stash, I had some letters and was playing around with them to see what words I came up with.  I liked the idea of adding the sun burst behind the letters for another pop.  This card could be used as with a housewarming gift or even a visitor who was staying over.  But since I didn't think I'd have a chance to use this, I just decided to make it into a magnet for our house by adding cut pieces of adhesive-backed magnet.  Even my boyfriend thought it was cool.  So now it has a place on our fridge. :)

Thanks so much for the challenge this week!

Hoppy Easter Suit

Woohoo, spring is in the air!  I am starting to think about Easter, how about you?

For the March MFT Color Palette Challenge 3, we were asked to used Kraft, Berrylicious, Grapesicle, and Sour Apple (I love MFT colour names).

I am using a retired stamped from MFT, Funny Bunny by Claire Keay.  I super love this kid in the bunny suit.  Kinda makes me want one of my own.  :)  I used a kraft base, a white mat, and a striped purple and white vellum piece from Daiso.  I wanted to put the long vertical diecut on its side (making it horizontal, not vertical...) and put my bunny upright, so a square card works nicely with this.  I added a Fancy Flourish in Sour Apple and a few pearls in coordinating colours from the Doodlebug Spring Pearls assortment.  Thanks for the challenge!  I know it's early...but Hoppy Easter!  (^_~)/

Supplies:

MFT KY - Funny Bunny (retired); MFT Fancy Flourish and Vertical Greetings Die-namics; Cardstock; Daiso Chiyogami (Vellum); Memento Tuxedo Black; Doodlebug Spring Pearls; Copic Markers (BV000, BV00, BV01, G07, R20, Y38).

You Inspire Me

This week's Color Throwdown and MFT Wednesday Sketch Club inspired me to make this card.

I thought I could use this corrugated board I had saved from packaging.  I love the texture it adds.  I put this on the bottom half of green patterned (EK Success Holiday-Circle Dots) and put a MFT Dainty Lace Border in white between.  I embossed the sentiment from MFT My Favorite Sentiments using Tsukineko White Embossing Powder on MFT Oval Dainty Doily from the Dainty Doily Duo.  Just off to the side I added a few felt rosettes that I made using MFT Mini Rolled Roses Die-namics.  After matting it on white, I added it to a new piece of Dark Chocolate cardstock that my friend sent me from Simon Says.  I plan to send this card to her next time because she rocks! Make sure you check out her website.

Welcome Spring

This week's Sweet Sunday Sketch is simple but cute.

I decided to use a diecut I had in my stash tin and found this lovely flower that called to me.  It's made with MFT Prima Donna Petals Die-namics.  I added a small aqua rhinestone from Wild Orchids.  The stamp comes from PTI's Sweet Spring set.  I'm happy I had some more Hopscotch paper from Basic Grey (I knew I needed two pads...)  I don't usually mat everything, but today I thought I would and I like how it turned out.

Thanks for the challenge!

Hello x 4

This card was inspired by two challenges.  The first being Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday - DIY Cover Plates and the second being Cure for the Monday Blues -Electric Eclectic .  Here is the picture for the latter challenge, so you can see where I got my inspiration.

I loved the colours and quilt pattern.  I thought it would be fun to use Papertrey Ink's Heart-2-Heart #2 for die-cutting and stamping.  I first secured the negative in place to do my stamping and then I popped it up to give it a cool look.

I added my sentiment to the side.  Although I first stamped it in a lighter blue, it was too pale.  I changed it to a brighter ink.

Oh, I missed the Cure for the Monday Blues last week.  But here's my card for Challenge #9.

I used the captain's wheel stamp from the MFT -Sea set and the sentiment from the Pink Paislee Nantucket set.  I neatly wrapped some baker's twine and tied a bow.  By using VersaFine Majestic Blue ink, the sentiment really popped.  I kept the accents plain by using a couple white and a blue to match the ink. Really liked this card!

Thanks for the challenge!

Supplies:  Papertrey Ink - Heart-2-Heart #2; VersaFine Habanero; Stampin Up Pixie Pink; Memento Bahama Blue.

Sweet Friend

I made a few cards one after another using the same paper, so I'd like to share them together.  The first one is inspired by the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge with the theme of Farm Fresh.  I wanted to use denim and country patterns.  So I pulled out my Basic Grey Piccadilly pad, as well as my Fancy Pants Beach Bum, to get the right papers.  MFT's Pretty Pocket is groovy but fun for that country denim feel I was going for.  I wanted to pair it with MFT's Royal Rose die, which I honestly think of as the country rose and am shocked it's called royal rose…every single time.  This flower is absolutely gorgeous when rolled.  I added some Recollections microbeads in Cricket of the center.  Instead of leaves, I used AC twine and made loops (loopies are sorta in trend, aren't they?)  I found that the stamp set has these cool swirls that match the Pink Paislee Indigo Bleu border stickers perfectly.  I added more twine along with the border strip and tied a bow to finish it off.  :)

The next card I made combines two challenges:  The Greeting Farm's Farm Fresh Friday challenge - use twine or ribbon (easy, right?) and Sweet Sunday Sketch #211.  In my stamped image book, I had this cute Miss Anya Hats Off image stamped and coloured and I noticed she was blue and grey with a bit of yellow in her hat.  It went nicely with the paper left over.  I decided to do some fun cross-stitching using my We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy tool (the royal blue one) and piercer.  I had originally planned to add a square piece behind my image, but I decided against covering up all that stitching!  Anya has a cute ribbon/could be daisy in her hat, so I decided to added a Prima daisy flower with a bling center from Daiso.  The sentiment was actually a glitter rub-on (you rub it and add the glitter) from K& Co.  It was too faint to stand out, so I outlined with a pen.  I liked the yellow with the denim look, so I kept the theme going, and added it to a kraft card base.

The last card was just for fun because I love using glitter.  I actually was going to use this butterfly adhesive rub-on with the Anya card, but changed my mind.  No waste.  Using scraps, I made a cute little card to add with a gift.  It needed a little something on the left side there, so I did some more stitching and tied a cute bow.  The sentiment comes from the Papertrey Ink Heart-2-Heart #4.

Here is the Sweet Sunday Sketch this week:

Thanks for the fun challenges as always!

I ''Reely'' Love You

Simon Wednesday Challenge was for Mother's Day or Special Girl.  Since I already made a card/tag for my mom's birthday this month, I thought of something fun instead.  My mom came to visit me in Japan over Christmas.  We had a great time hanging out, scrapping, shopping, and just spending time together.  It was so nice!  One of the things I rarely get to do with my mom is go and see a movie.  No matter what, she usually says yes if I ask her to go with me and we always get popcorn.  If we lived closer, I'm sure that we would have theatre nights, just as must as we had movie nights at home growing up.  :)  I made this card to send to her.  Since she lives so far away, I don't think I can include movie tickets.  But I can include the most recent photo taken of us together at the movies.   It's not the best photo, but my mom said it was a cute picture.  I'm sure that is enough to make her tear up a little.  It will be a nice memory.

Here's the sketch I used for MFT Wednesday Stamp Club #167:

I used the My Favorite Things At the Movies stamp set for most of this card.  Only the little heart comes from the Homespun Birdhouse set.  I thought it would be cool to stamp the base using the popcorn boxes and label stamps, which were stamped with Memento Lady Bug.  Then I stamp the sentiment using Brilliance Graphite Black.  I actually double stamped to make sure I got it a crisp image so it wouldn't get lost in all the popcorn box background.  I layered my now stamped white paper on red to frame it all.  Then I used my MFT Mini Ticket Strip die to make two strips and stamped each one with the word ''Ticket'' in Memento Tuxedo Black.  I thought it would be cute to add the heart where it crossed.  I glued the strips down and trimmed off in line with the red base.  I added it to the yellow card to give it a fun look and tie in with the popcorn idea.  :)

Thank you for the challenges!
